Meghan Markle Will Soon Launch Her First Podcast on Spotify

Meghan Markle, the Queen of Sussex, will release her debut Spotify podcast in summer of 2018. A new series from Archewell Audio (an outgrowth of Meghan and Prince Harry's foundation) and their special association with the audio-streaming network is an eagerly anticipated new addition to the media landscape.

A spokeswoman for Archewell Audio confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the decision was reached after discussions with officials from Spotify about the streaming service provider's misleading rules and practises.

In light of the latest development, the royals have confirmed that they will maintain their cooperation with the internet giant. The Universal Music Group has announced that it will be ceasing operations in Russia.

The podcast has been overdue for quite some time. In December 2020, Spotify announced a partnership with the royal producers, Archewell Audio.

In the years since relinquishing their royal duties and relocating to California in 2020, the pair has created a number of creative projects and started legal action against British tabloids for privacy infringement on their personal information.

It was announced in September that they had secured a partnership with streaming giant Netflix to develop "impactful" documentaries and series, while Markle, a former television actress, recently voiced a nature documentary for Disney+.

Spotify and FC Barcelona have struck a sponsorship agreement worth an estimated EUR 300 million.

Spotify has already signed celebrity podcasters such as Barack and Michelle Obama, as well as Kim Kardashian West and her sister Khloe Kardashian. The value of the agreement with the royal family was just not disclosed by the corporation.
