Sony Entertainment has also declared that it will cease all of its company operations in Russia as a result of the government's army incursion in Ukraine, in a move that is identical to that of Disney. As reported by Deadline, this restriction by these corporations would extend beyond the usual theatre releases that both production companies had already ceased earlier this year.
Tony Vinciquerra, Chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures, addressed an email to the company's employees. In addition to the suspension of Crunchyroll's anime streaming platform in Russia, Sony will also suspend home entertainment releases and potential TV distribution partnerships in the nation as part of its boycott of the country.
According to reports, the God of War TV series is headed to Amazon Prime Video.
