WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that allows users to add music to their Status updates, making them more engaging and expressive. The feature is now rolling out worldwide and will be available to all users in the coming weeks.
With this update, users will see a music note icon when creating a Status. By tapping on it, they can browse a library of songs and select a specific track to include. Users can also choose a particular segment of the song to play. Music clips can last up to 15 seconds for photo statuses and up to 60 seconds for video statuses.
This feature is similar to the music integration available in Instagram Stories, but WhatsApp ensures enhanced privacy. All Status updates, including those with music, remain end-to-end encrypted, meaning only selected contacts can view them. Even WhatsApp itself cannot access the content.
By integrating music into Status updates, WhatsApp aims to provide a more interactive experience for users. To enjoy this feature, users should update their app to the latest version as the global rollout continues.
